Transfering a Domain Name to us is normally a very easy a quick procedure:
- Nominet UK Domains: .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk, .sch.uk: The transfer of
these types of domains can only be actioned by the losing registrar. You will need to inform your current domain
name registrar to conduct a "Move of Domain" to our IPS Tag of "TECHNO-WEB". As soon as the move of tag is actioned
by the losing registrar, we will receive an automated email from Nominet UK, that will enable us to conduct changes
to the delegation of your domain, which can then take approximately 48hrs to propagate before your services are
accessible within our servers.
- MelbourneIT - Internet Names WorldWide (INWW): .com,
.net, .org, .name, .info & .biz: The transfer of these domains is initiated by the gaining registrar, in this
instance that would be us, but in many cases you will need to inform the losing registrar that you are
intending on moving your domain name away from them so that they can prepare and conduct actions on the
'Lock' status for your domain name. Many transfers of these domains fail because the legal registrant has
not informed the losing registrar of the impending transfer request.
- CentralNIC: .gb.com, uk.com, uk.net, eu.com: These domain transfers are again
actioned by the gaining registrar, with us conducting the request on your behalf directly with CentralNIC, who
then informs the losing reseller of the transfer request.
In all cases of Global & Alternate domain name transfers, the registrant has to approve the transfer request.
Approval is required to prevent what is called 'Domain Name Hijacking' and is for the protection of the legal registrant
of a domain name.
